Corrosion-Proof HVOF Coated Valve Piston - Factory Supply from China Suppliers for Hydraulic Applications
Valve Pistons – Core Moving Components of Industrial Valves
Valve pistons are critical moving components installed inside pneumatic, hydraulic, or pilot-operated valves. Their primary function is to convert fluid pressure energy (compressed air, hydraulic oil) into mechanical thrust, driving the valve stem and spool to achieve precise opening, closing, or flow regulation of the valve.
As the "heart" of the valve control system, the piston's performance directly determines the valve's response speed, sealing reliability, and service life. Our valve pistons, manufactured using precision machining and high-quality engineering materials, are widely used in various valve equipment in industries such as petrochemicals, power energy, water treatment, shipbuilding, and metallurgy/mining.

Utilizing a multi-stage sealing structure design combined with imported sealing materials (high-temperature resistant fluororubber FKM, corrosion-resistant EPDM, and low-friction PTFE), this ensures the piston maintains excellent sealing performance even after millions of reciprocating cycles. The seal groove bottom roughness reaches Ra 0.2μm, minimizing the risk of leakage.
Through surface strengthening treatment technologies (HV850+ hard chrome plating, ion nitriding, and ceramic spraying), the piston surface hardness is significantly improved, increasing wear resistance by 3–5 times. Combined with a self-lubricating guide ring (PTFE-filled + bronze), direct metal-to-metal contact is avoided, greatly extending service life.
Optimized sealing compression and lubrication structure, using low-friction coefficient materials (PTFE composite materials, graphite-filled materials), achieves a starting pressure as low as below 0.2MPa, making it particularly suitable for control valves with frequent start-stop cycles and regulating valves requiring high response speeds.
High Temperature: Utilizes heat-resistant alloy steel (15CrMo, 304H) + flexible graphite seals, capable of withstanding high-temperature steam up to 600℃.
Low Temperature: Employs low-temperature impact toughness materials (LF2, 316L) + low-temperature resistant seals, suitable for ultra-low temperature environments such as LNG and liquid nitrogen down to -196℃.
Using CNC turning and high-precision grinding processes, the piston's outer diameter tolerance can be controlled within ±0.005mm, with a roundness ≤0.002mm, ensuring optimal fit with the cylinder block. Each batch of products undergoes coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection to guarantee dimensional consistency.
The piston and piston rod feature a separable threaded connection, allowing for quick seal replacement without disassembling the entire actuator. Some models include a disassembly process hole, facilitating on-site maintenance and effectively reducing equipment downtime.
For high-speed or heavy-mass pistons, a buffer cone/pump can be integrated at the front end to create a hydraulic or air cushion at the end of the stroke, preventing rigid collisions between the piston and the end cap and extending the overall valve life.
A pre-drilled groove for a magnetic ring is provided on the piston, allowing for the installation of a permanent magnet ring. Combined with an external magnetic switch or displacement sensor, this enables real-time monitoring and remote feedback of the piston position, facilitating intelligent upgrades for Industry 4.0.
